Ocean City, Maryland will once again pay tribute to the nation’s first responders with the annual “Salute to the Services,” the special discount program honoring military, police, EMS and fire personnel. The 2010 “Salute to the Services” program begins on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 15 and runs through Wednesday, June 16. Planned by the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association, many local businesses including hotels, restaurants, attractions, golf courses and shops are offering discounts to military, police, EMS and fire personnel showing their credentials during the program. The participating businesses and activities are posted on a special web site - www.salutetotheservices.com.

Also during Salute to the Services, the Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum, located on the Boardwalk at the Inlet, will offer complimentary admission to firefighters and military personnel. On June 16, Salute to the Services concludes with the annual Maryland State Fireman’s Association Parade down Baltimore Ave. at 1 p.m.
